GEMOD: Ghana E-waste Model

Electronic waste, or e-waste, is a term for electronic products that have become unwanted, non-working or obsolete, and have essentially reached the end of their useful life.

Our aim is to put up recycling plants in Ghana to recycle this waste.

The overall objective is to develop a sustainable e-waste management system which makes e-waste re-usable and recycling.

The project aims to establish a structured approach to e-waste Education/Publicity, collection, dismantling and sorting, safe disposal of hazardous components and export of recyclables. In doing this, GEMOD will provide an avenue for various institutions, businesses; individuals etc. to dispose of their mounting stocks of WEEE in an environmentally sustainable manner.
